What kitchen should I buy, and when?

Insight Retail Group was established in 2010 and owns and runs the first price comparison websites within the Home Improvement Industry, focusing on the high-ticket categories of Kitchens and Bathrooms. The company is independent, is owned by the founder Steve Collinge and is not linked to any of the retailers and is dedicated to helping consumers who are looking to purchase a new kitchen or bathroom saving them time and money in the process.

What to Buy?

With our in-depth knowledge of the kitchen market, we’re often asked where we would buy a new kitchen from; and our answer is always the same. Rather than favour a specific retailer, we always suggest choosing an 18mm cabinet from any retailer as they’re all pretty much the same. Then make sure you’ve chosen a good quality door (solid oak if you want a traditional design or a painted and lacquered door if a more contemporary design is required) and spend the majority of your money on top quality appliances, worktops, sinks, taps, lighting and flooring. Taking this approach can save many thousands of pounds on the kitchen purchase, and still leave you with a stunning new kitchen that should look good for many years.

When to Buy?

Similar to buying a new car, there is a good time and a bad time of the month to purchase a new kitchen. We always advise waiting to the last weekend in a month to finally make the purchase, as retailers will often have sales targets to hit, and sometimes they will be willing to offer more UTC (under the counter) discounts to secure the sale.
