In the last of our series highlighting the tricks and practices of the large kitchen retailers, we will be discussing product guarantees; a genuine necessity or an excessive additional cost?
All kitchen retailers offer product guarantees of between 5 and 25 years and increasingly installation guarantees of up to 5 years. These are designed to provide the all important reassurance of quality in case something goes wrong, which is clearly important when a consumer is spending many thousands of pounds on a new kitchen.
The reality is, that kitchen quality varies very little across the retailers, so the length of kitchen guarantee is often irrelevant and certainly consumers shouldn't be convinced to pay more for a kitchen from a retailer that offers a longer guarantee.
